Grace of God

Had a dream about the Titanic
Goin' down in the icy sea
Everyone started to panic
You were crying out to me

I could feel the great ship sinkin'
I could feel the cold spray in my face
And in this dream I started thinkin'
We shouldn't be in this place

There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God go you and I

There's a man standing next to the freeway
Beggin' for work and for change
I see him there most everyday weekday
He's looking so strange
He's got a sign says he fought for your freedom
In an old war that nobody won
And now there's no one left here to need him
The damage is done

There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God go you and I

All your money won't help you

There's no way to even the odds
All you can do is pray for the grace of God

It was four thirty one in the morning
The longest minute I've ever known
'Cuz Nature doesn't issue a warning
When it comes for your home

The legends of mighty Atlantis
Babylon, Pompei or Rome
If destiny chooses to damn us
We're all on our own

There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God go you and I

There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God
There for the grace of God go you and I
