nearly 900 field units, 1-million volunteers and 36,000 employees dedicated
to saving lives and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to
emergencies. The organization annually mobilizes relief to victims of more
than 70,000 disasters, aids in international disaster relief and provides
life-saving skills training to almost 12 million people. The Red Cross also
provides nearly half of the nation's blood supply.
