Apollo 13: The Untold Story (VHS)

Bill Mumy hosts the story of the third manned mission to the moon, which almost ended in horror and the "thirteen" jinx seemed to play a role. Seventy-two hours prior to liftoff, Ken Mattingly, the Command Module Pilot had to be replaced due to his exposure to German measles. Then, fifty-six hours into the mission, the crew was met with numerous major system failures. NASA was able to shut down the Command Module and use the Lunar Module to supply the necessary power to reach the moon and return to Earth. This procedure had never been carried out nor had the dire situation ever been contemplated or simulated.
